ECS Electronics Testdevice
The ECS Electronics Testdevice is the ideal solution for testing all functions of our vehicle-specific towbar wiring with 7- and 13-pin plugs. This robust and user-friendly test device allows you to easily and accurately check all electrical signals of a connected trailer.
Thanks to the 5-meter long cable and the use of real lamp voltage, you can perform a complete function test on your own. The sturdy, double-walled case is specially designed for intensive use in the workshop. An adapter is included for 7-pin connections. With the ECS Electronics Testdevice, you are assured of a reliable and efficient test solution for towbar wiring kits.
CANfinder
The CANfinder is probably one of the most valuable testing tools in the towbar technician’s workshop!
The CANfinder is a useful gadget giving you an electrical and electronics testing tool all in one!
The CANfinder is a useful gadget giving you an electrical and electronics testing tool all in one!
It finds pulsed live feeds without damaging or breaking into the wire insulation:
• Pulsed feeds
• CANbus signals both CAN high and CAN low
With the visual LED or sounder readout, the CANbus network can be easily identified. A sounder indicates that there is some data activity on the bus and with some practice you can hear if the data-flow sounds healthy. The green or red LED light identifies if the wire is CAN-Hi or CAN-Lo.
One of the most useful benefits of the CANfinder is that you can check that when the vehicle is turned off the data-flow stops and sends the vehicle into shut down mode. This simple process confirms that the vehicle will not be re-awoken by the towbar installation and so the battery wont discharge.
Modern vehicles are packed with a multitude of digital electronics. Use the CANfinder to locate and track these signals. If you have to work under the dashboard or in places with poor lighting there is an integral white LED torch light mounted on the front of the CANfinder to help you identify the cables.
CANfinder can also be used to test pulses on different types of lights. You can use it to identify 'Pulse Width Modulation' lights which have double function such as the brake light & tail light.
Additional uses include, for example, finding problems of interference from a windscreen wiper motor or a bad Xenon lamp. It is also possible to test the ignition. The Lambda Sensor can be checked to see if gives a regulation signal or not.
